In 2025, PS5 users might receive a full wave of Xbox games as Microsoft pushes forward with its third-party strategy. MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to arrive in Spring 2025, and DOOM: The Dark Ages will be playable on PS5 at launch. But that’s not all Microsoft-owned studios have in store.
Earlier today, insider Nate the Hate shared the latest rumors from his industry sources. According to him, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are expected to release on Sony’s PlayStation 5 and even the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
In a related story, Lost Soul Aside will require a PlayStation Network account on PC, with a new trailer confirming a 2025 release window. Shortly afterward, Jez Corden of Windows Central confirmed hearing the same rumors and added more titles reportedly making their way to PS5: Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Age of Mythology, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
The latter would be a significant move, bringing one of the most iconic Xbox franchises to its main console competitor. Although it’s an older title (the Ultimate Edition remaster was released in 2015), it could signal that more games in the franchise might be ported. After all, rumors of a Gears of War Collection have persisted for years.
The announcement of the other two titles would likely be more palatable for Xbox fans. While Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an excellent game, it remains a niche title that could benefit from increased sales. Likewise, Age of Mythology still isn’t available on Xbox consoles.
Interestingly, Corden mentioned that these games could also be released on the Nintendo Switch 2. However, there are doubts about porting Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, given its demanding requirements for a platform rumored to be weaker than the Xbox Series S.
